Brendon graduated from Petra High School in November 2015 with 3A* and an A studying Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Further Math.
He taught at a South African school called Blue Hills College from June – Aug 2016 and relocated to Vancouver in Canada for his studies. He was fortunate in gaining the MasterCard Foundation Scholarship https://mcfscholars.ubc.ca/ and was enrolled in the University of British Columbia’s (UBC) engineering program.
He is currently studying Engineering Physics with a minor in Economics. Engineering physics, in simplistic terms, is an amalgam of an engineering degree and an honours physics degree. This is one of UBC’s most competitive programs.
He has been engaged in undergraduate research in Math-Biology and participated in a few clubs to do with social impact, maths and computing (placed 3rd in North American programming competition DII).
He is hoping to gain as many technical and soft skills as he can to learn how he can be most beneficial to society in this phase of his life.
