Ryan left Petra in 2010 and took a gap year in 2011. He then graduated with a BSc Civil Engineering (Hons) degree at UKZN (Durban) in 2015. In 2016, he started work in Pretoria, South Africa for an Australian-based engineering consultancy called Aurecon. 2018 will be his third year as a Civil Engineer in their water unit.
A lot of his work involves water conveyance systems, waste water and hydropower. In 2017 he finished a course in Financial Modeling of Renewable Energy Projects as he is particularly interested in hydropower and a lot of Aurecon’s clients require bankable feasibility studies of their hydro projects. He also got married on December 9th, 2017.
